Different Breeds of Chickens
There are hundreds of different breeds of chickens to choose from, each of which have been bred for a certain reason. Some chickens have been bred for eggs, some for meat, others for being mothers to chicks, and some are even meant for show. So your definetly going to find a chicken for you.
Say for example you want a chicken that is friendly, quiet, and perfect for show, than you might consider getting a silkie chicken.
A hen you might want for eggs might be an ISA brown, which is a chicken that is a mix of multiple breeds of chickens, so it can lay eggs on a daily bases.
Those aren't the only ones you can own, you can choose from any chicken breed you please.
